The Thinking Cap
I came across an ominously large place of worship on a recent trip to one of the water falls close to the Andhra Pradesh - Tamil Nadu border. The first thing that strikes me when i see it is that,
Its amazing what man creates in his quest for liberation from it all.
Sometimes i wonder if we want heaven after earth or heaven on earth...
It is difficult to understand men that create monsterous monuments, only to move beyond them or in what they 'think' they are doing in that attempt.

After a while friendship moves from its fresh green pastuers to a firm understanding and appreciation of each others' survival instinct. Friendship matures when people move beyond that eutopian dream to accept the other's cunning ways.

The Thinking Cap
A fortnight ago, I accidentally broke a friend's spectacles. They weren't really broken, but they needed some fixing. Not a tough job really, but if you're not someone with a deft touch, you'd do well to take it to an optician if you don't want to be paying for the frame soon enough...
So, in we walked, and it was fixed by an old man behind the counter in what seemed like a post-retirement amusement-endevour of a shop.
I paid for the fix. I thought i should since i'd been the one to break it... It was a nominal 10 INR. But my friend didn't want me to pay for it.
"It's just 10 Rupees!", I said. We always had this habit, of talking about more serious things, but with a dash of humour... That was our way of acknowledging realities and yet staying sane.
And so he retorted, "Just 10 rupees? are you saying JUST 10 rupees??", "Do you know how big a change you can initiate with this 10 rupees if you do use it well??". He continued, his humourous grin across his face..
"Yes Sir!" i said, grinning back at him... "Because, with my 10 rupees, I just gave you back, your perspective on things."

Man uses words where he cant use silence
Man uses fists where he cant use words,
Man uses bombs where he cant use fists,
And where he cannot use anything,
He uses his mind...

Friends
We fly in different directions,
Like kites in the sky;
But cometh the occasion' cometh the sun,
Find us flying by.

Teenage
Only when i was hurt, did i grow;
Only when i was happy did i know.
Only when my image of things was erased,
did i learn to see;
How quickly changes
Volatile reality...
A mirage...
Only when i was stupid, did i think;
Only when i was smarter, did i know.
Only when i got a little for a lot, did i know;
That a little is enough, One should take it slow.
There were few, but important choices,
Only when i could see beyond my illusions, could i see
There were a thousand voices,
But only time showed taught me what i wanted to be.
There is an age called the teenage,
When we grow inspite of ourselves rather than because.
And that age sometimes has significance
That extends beyond understanding,
Becomes the old man's walking stick.

Understanding:
Understanding is like a sheet of ice that forms between the water and the air at the north pole, beginning of the world... it runs thick for miles and miles... but you can never say when the fragile sheet goes thin... Thats why we have forgiveness... And then we function within that thick ice... sometimes understanding is a small ice cap and sometimes it is the whole of the artic.....

The Thinking Cap
Making time for people doest always mean in the minutes of a clock,
Sometimes you have to run with them for ten and sometimes maybe sit for five.. to really reach out to them...
Its more important that you hurry up or slow down a little,to bridge the gap if you want to really meet with people...
